Competition system of Chanwu Federation International

The competition system of Chanwu Federation International consists of two parts, namely, traditional Gong Fu and modern Wushu. The competitions of traditional Gong Fu include Taolu performance and Sanshou competition using traditional Taolu techniques. Under categorization of different Taolu events as indicated in the competition system chart, there are different age groups such as children group, juvenile group and adult group; as well as Shifu group. The competitions apply rules for traditional Gong Fu competition formulated by Chanwu Federation International.

The competitions of modern Wushu include Taolu performance and Sanda, applying the rules enacted by the International Wushu Federation.

Judges and Referees

All judges and referees of Chanwu Federation International have to learn the competition rules for the traditional Gong Fu competition formulated by Chanwu Federation International and the rules enacted by the International Wushu Federation. Only judges and referees who pass relevant examinations can act as ;udges and referees in the competitions organized by Chanwu Federation International. Rankings of judges are junior judge, advanced judge and senior uige. The junior judges must know or have learnt the characteristics of ten or more barehand and weapon styles. The advanced judges must know or have learnt the characteristics of twenty or more barehand and weapon styles. The senior judges must know or have learnt the characteristics of thirty or more barehand and weapon styles.

Competitions

The traditional Gong Fu competition consists of Taolu and Sanshou and the modern Wushu Competition consists of Taolu and Sanda. With this structure, the martial art practitioners can better appreciate values and the differences between the traditional Gong Fu and modern Wushu.
